Quarter B

Quarter B has nine dwellings with one or more rooms built between the end of the seventh and the first half of the sixth century B.C. It was in use until the second half of the sixth century B.C., at which time it was abandoned. All that is left of the buildings, many of which had been remodeled and enlarged over time, are foundations made of rough-hewn stones; the elevation was probably made of perishable material, whereas the entry, when it was oriented toward the slope of the hill, was protected from being washed away by a stone structure. Inside the houses, a gravel layer was laid under the dirt floor to absorb underground moisture. In the north side of the quarter there is larger dwelling, probably belonging to a person of a higher social class. Within the inhabited area, some older tombs (VII sec. B.C.) were also identified, associated with the orientalization age.
