Quarter D
Quarter D is located on the south side of the hill and consists of four compounds that appear very incomplete due to the presence of a military encampment during World War II. The areas around the quarter still show many traces of what must have been the structures associated with the other compounds, even if they are no longer identifiable with certainty. The few traces of surviving foundation walls do not allow an exact evaluation of the layout of the quarter, whose earliest buildings date to about the seventh century B.C. At the beginning of the sixth century B.C. the area was terraced, the better to build new dwellings. |
